Cat and mouse game where the playboy finds someone he wants to keep around

I have been really into the whole MC-Romance theme as of late. I haven't really found one in the last few months I didn't like. Now, Axe's Fall wasn't necessarily my favorite -- the writing style was a bit too light and easy for me personally -- but the storyline itself? I really liked.
Axe is the playboy of his club. He won't sleep with the same woman twice, and he's never at a loss for a bed companion (or two or three). But after meeting a woman at a wedding and doing the whole anonymous one-night stand thing with her, he can't get her out of his mind.
...then she shows up at the meeting for the strip mall the club is putting up.
Baylee is not an MC-club type of gal. She has her own demons in life to worry about, she doesn't need to add the stress and unknown of the 1% lifestyle. But she can't get Axe out of her head.
These two play the cat and mouse game, with Axe fighting for Baylee's attention (much to his horror), and Baylee fighting to keep their 'relationship' as close to business collegues only as possible. Slowly, though, he eases under her skin.
I absolutely loved watching Axe fall. I loved the ribbing he gets from his brothers and I loved the jealousy he encounters -- it's such a foreign thing for him. But more than that, I loved the protectiveness he exuded once Baylee's fears and past come crashing into the here and now.
The storyline and characterizations themselves were certainly well thought out. I loved watching as Axe grew, and I loved watching Baylee fight and stand for who she was. I enjoyed the suspense line, although it truly didn't come to a head until much closer to the end -- sadly, it was almost forgettable in that aspect. The writing style occasionally left something to be desired for me personally, but the story was still enjoyable -- I want to go back and read Jax and Chass's stories (I loved watching them with their respective women and children), and I definitely want to continue this Insurgent journey.

OMG I've become a huge fangirl of Chiah Wilder in a very short time. Every book of hers I've read, I have LOVED LOVED LOVED! And Axe's Fall is no exception. Axe, a member of the Insurgents MC, travels to one of his oldest friends weddings, and he's not looking forward to it. It's there when he comes face to face with Baylee Peters, and has no doubt that he's going to end the night with her legs wrapped around him. He succeeds, and they agree to a one night stand with no names or phone numbers. He's gone by the time she wakes up. But he can't get her out of his head. Baylee is a workaholic who toes the line, and never does anything wild and crazy. She throws caution to the wind and spends a memorable night with the hot biker, but afterwards, she can't get him out of her head. Imagine her shock when she runs into him in Pinewood Springs, where she's traveled for work. They can't stay away from each other, and danger is stalking her. Will Baylee trust Axe enough to take control and protect her before it's too late?
Everytime I finish a book in this series, I swear to anyone who will listen, this is the best one yet. And Axe's Fall has kept that tradition alive. The character development is great, especially with Baylee's dark memories slowly coming back to her. An amazing, fast paced, and very well written storyline flows effortlessly. The tangible chemistry leads to forest fire intense sexy scene goodness that I didn't want to end. Chiah Wilder had my captivated from the title, and kept my heart racing cover to cover. The twists that kept me on my toes throughout, led to a HUGE OMG moment. I will NEVER get enough of this author's writing, so I happily HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

A steamy, murder/mystery with bikers and 'citizens' going head to head

This was a pretty exciting and steamy murder/mystery where the bad guys aren't who you think they are...and the surprises keep on coming.
It was steamy as heck and features Axe, who can't keep women off of him or out of his space but meets his match in a straight-laced 'citizen' who does what no woman before her ever was able to do...keep Axe interested in a more permanent way.
There was a lot of the usual clubhouse antics (meetings, runs and parties), pushy women and even pushier men (the ones in suits and not vests) but the main storyline is the solving of a cold case murder and the witness left behind who the killer wants gone.
A really good book and even though there were a couple of issues that were not believable, I liked it a lot and would read more of this series.
